Last we left off:

I went a bit longer so we can get back into this story again.

Mauricio and her mother stopped arguing, and looked back and forth at her then at Jayce.
“You were in my dream last night,” Mara said. “Somehow you were in my dream,” she said the words, but couldn’t quite believe them.
She met Jayce’s gaze. “Why were you in my dream?” Her voice grew louder and more frantic.
“I wasn’t aware you even knew how to use your powers,” Jayce said.
Mara looked at him with confusion. Powers? What powers? “Mom what are they talking about?”
“Okay, everyone, just… just shut it down NOW!” Adelaide screamed.
“No, Adelaide,” Mauricio said. “Please, let’s go inside. It’s not safe out here.” He motioned toward the house. Everyone filed in with Mauricio last as he kept an eye over his shoulder as if expecting trouble to follow.
