Thought I’d come back to this story since my story just released and it’s out all by itself!
We left off with Valentina being down in the morgue and Dr. Xander Carlisle brought her coffee and there is definitely some flirting going on there. He knows and she knows it. Now she wants to find Xander good friend Hernandez and see what he thinks.

She needed to track down Hernandez and see what he thought, those two were inseparable, and… She shook her head. She was going on as if she were in high school, oh she could hear the conversation now.

“Well, Hernandez, do you think he likes me, likes me? Or does he just like me?” “I don’t know, Valentina, he just might like you.” She rolled her eyes. She was not having that conversation.

The doors swung open again, interrupting Valentina’s thoughts. Detective Brown strode in with a purpose, he was short and stocky with a crop of dark hair peppered with gray, but it was his easy smile that made him attractive.

She was about to ask him why he was here, but then the doors swung open again. Two officers pushed in a gurney with a body bag sprawled on top.
