Snippet Sunday: At First Snowfall #snippetsunday #SPeekSunday #8Sunday

Welcome Back Everyone!

Today is Snippet #9 from my newly published story! I’m so excited to have you read it!

Today I’ll be sharing a snippet from my newly published story At First Snowfall.
I thought I would take a break from my Dia de los Muertos ~ Day of the Dead and show you a glimpse into my new story for Christmas time. Hope you enjoy the snippet.

So for this snippet I skipped ahead a bit from last time. Addy asked Alexander to leave his wife Victoria and go live some place else to raise their child and just be madly in love. Alexander is hesitant but agrees to do the right thing come clean to his father about the affair and to his wife and to try to stay in the kingdom with his son and his now unborn child. We find out that Alexander married Victoria to form an alliance with her kingdom. There was never any love there.

***note this snippet is to fit a 8 sentence limit***

Princess Victoria wore her hair up in a high ponytail.
The tight-fitted, gold corset top and the large flowing skirt flattered her figure.
She hated how beautiful the princess looked.
Adelaide glanced at Alexander. His expression of shock mirrored her own.
Her heart raced. How did they know where they were?
This could not be a chance meeting. How much did they hear?

Find out what happens next week on Sunday February 1st for snippet #10 of my paranormal romance At First Snowfall.

Some faerytales are all too real, but if she can unleash her powers and learn to control them before the first snowfall, she just might find her happily ever after.

Blurb: The Day of the Dead takes on a new meaning, when the dead don’t stay dead. Dr. Valentina Bellmonte, a cancer survivor, is the new coroner at Hope Memorial. Her faith is put to the test when a body arrives at the morgue drained of blood and the man responsible for the crime is sporting fangs. Could vampires be real?
Her good friend, Dr. Xander Carlisle seems to know the truth, but he’s unwilling to confide in her. He has a secret of his own and it’s not just how he feels about her, but something else entirely, something he’s forbidden to reveal.

Sharing Is Caring

  1. It seems they didn’t move far enough away, or perhaps they were betrayed by someone that Alexander came clean with – either way I am sure it is going to get plenty uncomfortable for them. Curious to see how this works out.

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Thanks for stopping by. Yes very uncomfortable.

  2. P.T. Wyant says:

How much indeed? I think things are about to get more than a little heated…

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

      Yes, yes they are!

  3. Sarah W says:

This is either going to go very badly . . . or very well.

Since it’s a romance, and you wrote it, Cecilia, I’m going to vote for very well—eventually? 🙂

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Lol. Yes, very well…eventually is right.

  4. Chip says:

“She hated how beautiful the princess looked.”
Great opportunity for some interesting dialog. Let the reader discover how the queen feels about the princess from a source other than the narrator.

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Thank you. I will definitely keep that in mind and play with it.

  5. Siobhan Muir says:

Good snippet, Cecilia. You captured the emotion well.

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

  6. Oh so many questions. Yes, how did they know they were there. Interesting snippet.

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Thanks you. Can’t wait to share more.

  7. Lorien Lyn says:

I liked the tension. Sounds like things are turning for the worse for Adelaide and Alexander. Great eight! 🙂

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Thank you. Things are looking too good for them at all.

  8. Uh oh, a tense situation happening here – great snippet!

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

  9. Elaine Cantrell says:

I’d be a little worried about what they heard too. Loved the description of the princess.

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Thank you. Hope they didn’t hear too much.

  10. Kate Warren says:

    Congratulations on the release!

This doesn’t sound good. They’ve been listening the whole time? Yikes!

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Thanks. I’m so excited for it too.

  11. Aheila says:

    Oh oh… Sounds like trouble.

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

      Trouble indeed.

  12. Jeff Tsuruokas says:

Hmmm. Awkward indeed. The line about her hating how beautiful the princess looks is aces. Nice work!

  13. Iris says:

I like the little bit of envy in Adelaide … well done … can’t wait to read more next week.

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

  14. Neva says:

Princess Victoria does sound beautiful though. Poor Adelaide. Great eight!

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

She is very gorgeous on the out side. Can’t say much about her insides lol. Stay tuned.

  15. Gem says:

Bad enough that Victoria is a princess; too much to handle when she’s beautiful too. @_@

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Lol. That’s definitely the point I wanted to make! Thanks for stopping by.
