Last we left off with:
Mara turns around to see Mauricio standing there sexy as ever right in front of her. He has now told her she is in danger and her mom has been keeping secrets from her. Adelaide is not happy to see him at all.
***note this snippet is to fit a 8-10 sentence limit***
I went a bit longer today so you can get more of the effect of the scene. Enjoy.
Mara blinked in surprise at her mom’s attitude. She shook her head and glanced back at Mauricio. Her gaze shifted to the path as she spotted someone approaching them.
A tall, white-haired, young man headed toward them. He was beautiful. He even had eyes like hers. His hair was buzzed short and it almost looked like he was bald with his hair being so pale.
Then it hit her. This was the man from her dream she had last night, the dream that spooked her straight down to her soul. The dream she wanted to forget all about.
How was this possible? Could he really be her brother? Had the dream been a mixture of truth?
She shook her head. If that was so, then Mauricio was a wolf. Yeah, right, but still… “Jayce?” Mara asked softly.
The white-haired man frowned. “How did you— Xiomara, how do you know my name?” Jayce asked.

Great snippet–in just a few short sentences she goes from disbelief to an almost acceptance of this new-to-her reality. It’s also awesome that she trusts her own intuition. Imho, this makes for lovely, strong female characters. Looking forward to reading more!
