Mara turns around to see Mauricio standing there sexy as ever right in front of her. He has now told her she is in danger and her mom has been keeping secrets from her.

“After me? Wait, you said you worked for a shipping company. Why in the world would they be after me? What did you do?” She jabbed a finger into his chest.
Mauricio grabbed her arm to halt her, and then quickly let go.
“Xiomara, there is a lot you don’t know. A lot your mom should have told you. I should have told you. But that doesn’t matter right now. Right now I need you safe and that’s to get you out of here. Please Xiomara, come with me.” Mauricio looked at her with those entrancing topaz eyes.
He was pleading with her. But why should she go with him? And what did he mean there are things her mom should have told her? What was going on?”
Mauricio!” Adelaide hollered from the doorway. Mara turned as her mom walked toward them.
“Adelaide.” Mauricio inclined his head in greeting.”What’s going on here?” Adelaide demanded in a harsh tone.
