Last we left off with:
Mara is now awake from that scary dream and talking about this beautiful town she lives in and talking about a business her mom pushed her to open. Skipping ahead a Chapter, it is not opening night at her cafe and the whole town is there including the mayor. There is one other unexpected visitor..or is there? The cafe is now closed and Mara and her mother walked home together after a successful opening of the cafe.

Her mother headed into the house and she was about to follow, but a familiar voice had stopped her in her tracks.

It couldn’t be? Could it?

Too afraid to turn around she stayed rooted in her spot, but then the man called her name again. “Xiomara!”

The only other person she allowed in her life to call her by her full first name was Mauricio. She hadn’t seen him in… well, over two months.

Had he been at the café then? Had she really seen him there? She closed her eyes and swallowed back the lump in her throat.
