We left off with Adelaide jumping into a portal away from danger. She now is going to a world she doesn’t know anything about and the love of her life is dead and she is pregnant with his baby. Today’s snippet is chapter one and takes place over 20 years in the future. Starting off her Adelaide’s now adult daughter Xiomara (Mara).

The dream came again to haunt her night; she was powerless to stop it…
The night grew cold as the snow fell faster. Fear crept up Mara’s spine and the cold didn’t make it any better.
She shivered, uncontrollably. She felt something cold and heavy in her palm and lifted her hand.
She stared at the large sword with an emblem of an eye on the hilt, and frowned. Something brushed against her free hand and she glanced to her side where a large wolf stood.
He was magnificent in size and she felt safe with him there. “Mauricio,” she murmured, knowing this was the wolf’s name.
