Snippet Sunday: At First Snowfall #snippetsunday #SPeekSunday #8Sunday

Welcome Back Everyone!

Today is Snippet #18 from my newly published story! I’m so excited to have you read it!

Today I’ll be sharing a snippet from my newly published story At First Snowfall.
I thought I would take a break from my Dia de los Muertos ~ Day of the Dead and show you a glimpse into my new story for Christmas time. Hope you enjoy the snippet.

We’re jumping ahead a few paragraphs.

Alexander is distraught to find out about his fathers death and that it was by the hands of his wife and brother. Now Alexander is going to fight back and Adelaide knows this will not be good.

***note this snippet is to fit a 8 sentence limit***

Alexander was right, they couldn’t leave. They must stay and make sure Princess Victoria and Prince Eric didn’t get their grimy hands on the throne.
A good thought, but Adelaide worried about the stone Princess Victoria possessed. Guards were all around them, waiting for Victoria to command them.
She saw this, but Alexander seemed blinded to the fact.
“I will have you both imprisoned for this,” Alexander said and lunged toward Eric. Both men were on the ground, wrestling and throwing punches.
Adelaide tried to go to them but a guard held her back.

Oh no will Alexander be ok?!

  9. Jeff Tsuruoka says:

An effective, efficient snippet. Your characters are very well-drawn. One suggestion, though? Instead of, “were on the ground”, in the fight scene, use something simpler, like, “hit the ground, wrestling and punching”. It speeds up the flow a little, matching the speed and urgency of the lunge and resulting fight.

  10. Silver Rain says:

Sounds like things are going to get intense. I really enjoyed the snippet!

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

Thank you. Yes things only get more intense from here.

  11. That’s a good guard, don’t get in between men fighting unless you know karate and I’m sure she doesn’t.

    1. Cecilia Corona says:

      Bahaha. Thanks for stopping by!

  12. Aheila says:

Ouch! Sounds like the tense situation is about to get worse. This may not have been the best course of action.
